Few bands in the history of the heavy metal underground have a story as remarkable, unlikely, or uplifting as Cirith Ungol. Founded in Ventura, California, in the early 1970s, Cirith Ungol created a sound that the world had never heard before.
Cirith Ungol wasted no time riding the wave they created with their 2020 studio comeback 'Forever Black,' immediately starting to write songs for 'Dark Parade' after its release. Then, like everyone else, they were paralyzed by the global pandemic, struggling through illness, isolation, grief, and depression in their quest to create dark, vibrant art. And like the greatest warriors, they persevered and worked on one song after another, distractions aside. The first piece they composed was the overwhelming 'Relentless,' which boosted their confidence and clear vision. The rest of the Album came together naturally, fuelled by personal anguish and the tragedy of the worldwide collapse.
