Today, the Bristol-based band IDLES announced their upcoming fifth Album TANGK. TANGK, the 11-track follow-up to their Grammy-nominated Album CRAWLER, was co-produced by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, The Smile, Beck), Mark Bowen, Kenny Beats (Denzel Curry, Vince Staples, Benee), and the band themselves. TANGK - pronounced 'Tank' with a touch of 'g' and an onomatopoeic reference to the band's whipping guitar sound, which they envisioned as a kind of seal for life in love - is the band's most ambitious and impressive Album yet.

IDLES are one of the strongest Rock bands of the last decade. Godrich, Beats, and Bowen were also an outstanding team for IDLES, pushing them into new territory and then tightening the reins when necessary. TANGK is expansive and focused, imaginative and immediate. Singer Joe Talbot says of the Album: 'TANGK. I needed love. So I made it. I gave love to the world, and it feels like magic. This is our Album of gratitude and strength. All love songs. Everything is love.'

Where IDLES once aimed to deceive the world, defy the perpetually outdated, and exorcise personal traumas in real-time, they have now arrived in this new act to offer the fruits of such perseverance: love, joy, and actual gratitude for the mere possibility of existence. This music thrives not despite our problems but because of them. As TANGK seems to proclaim in one massive hook after another, if we don't take care of ourselves and others, then who will?
