16 years after their last studio album, Loikaemie releases their new album titled 'Menschen' (People)! 'Buckle up! Unbelievable, but true! 'Damn Axe!' The words from Saxony's biggest punk festival couldn't have been more perfect. With their surprise headliner, Back To Future 2019 announced: Loikaemie is back! Within five years, a wave swept through the European Oi! and (Street) Punk scene not just once, but twice: heavy emotions at their departure in 2014, followed by even greater excitement at their live comeback! And even bigger now with 12 new songs!

Since 2019, Loikaemie has become a staple, appearing high up in festival lineups and clubs, extending far beyond Germany. Thomas, Eddie, Paul, and Bruno not only seamlessly picked up where they left off live, but also reached new heights. Their concerts bring together people of all ages in their diverse subculture. Loikaemie is a band that everyone can agree on, in the best sense. Creativity has also been reignited: in 2022, the first new songs since 2007 were released, 'Lumpenmann' and 'Tief im Herzen' (digiheighty and as a Limited Edition 7' single), joined by 'Was Soll Die Ganze Scheisse?' and 'Lasst Uns rein,' all glimpses of the upcoming fifth studio album 'Menschen,' already on many playlists.

It's no wonder that after 16 years, expectations are huge, both for the fans and the band itself. And 'Menschen' is nothing less than a manifesto of what punk rock must sound like in 2023: snotty and melodic, uncompromising and reflective, political and upbeat. All twelve ear crushers exude the unmistakable Loikaemie spirit, yet 'Menschen' is a giant step forward. The extremely modern-sounding opener 'Wenn wir alle so wären' sweeps away anything currently trite in punk rock, from the following anthemic title track to the concluding self-invitation 'Lasst uns rein.' The energy remains high throughout the album, while also being more multifaceted than ever before in the band's history.

Street punk and rock 'n' roll bangers are accompanied by reggae, rap, ballads, and melodies that could easily hold their own in pop music. Instead of blunt statements, the lyrics tell pointed stories and share thoughtful ideas about current woes in the world, the scene, or one's own mind.
