Militarie Gun is a truly unclassifiable band. The debut album Life Under The Gun by singer Ian Shelton is the result of a lifetime of experience and effort, featuring 12 tracks that combine the unrestrained aggression of hardcore with massive hooks and plenty of personality. Throughout the entire album, Militarie Gun demonstrates their mastery of melody and intensity, while Shelton examines interpersonal relationships through a candid, empathetic, and confident lens. Highly catchy tracks like 'Do It Faster' and 'Very High' approach his challenging upbringing with an adult perspective.

The album closes with the anthemic title track, in which Shelton sings the concluding refrain 'a life of pursuit ends up pursuing you' like an urgent warning to himself: move forward or be consumed - your past may shape you, but it doesn't have to define you. The last, solitary chord of the song sounds like a question, a fittingly hopeful yet definitive ending for the debut album of a band that has come so far and evolved so much - but whose story has only just begun.
