"Starpath" LP od Dream Unending & Worm

Both 2021 and 2022 saw the releases of Dream Unending and Worm closing out the year on 20 Buck Spin. In 2023, the two doomed titans will now appear together on a stellar release of cosmic duality, 'Starpath', completing the year-end hat trick.

Having released one masterpiece after another in the past two years, both bands are inseparably connected in the fans' imagination. And although they couldn't be further apart musically, there are many similarities in their foundational pillars. And so, Dream Unending and Worm once again conclude 20 Buck Spin's release schedule for the year, this time together.

Dream Unending's latest tracks, 'So Many Chances' and 'If Not Now When', logically continue the goth/post-punk elements present in previous releases, building on expansive guitar passages, contemplative heavy riffs, and Justin DeTore's thunderous roar. Phil Swanson, who appeared as a guest vocalist on 'Song of Salvation', returns here. These two expansive pieces represent the most refined incarnation of where Derrick Vella and Justin DeTore are steering the ship.

Worm, as they are now called, remain an ever-changing entity of pure virtuosic blackness. 'Ravensblood' offers vampiric black metal with icy keyboards and eerie cemetery melodies. The chillingly atmospheric 'Midwinter Tears' evokes a snow-covered gothic mood, and the closing 'Sea of Sorrow' showcases the necromantic shredding of lead guitarist Wroth Septentrion over Phantom Slaughter's idiosyncratic black doom and immortal haunting necromancy.

Two bands, two unique approaches, a profound spectrum of radiant, passionate creation to the profound darkness of oblivion. Dream Unending and Worm each present over 20 minutes of new music specifically created for the joint release of 'Starpath'.
